A small spec home gets a thoughtful, layered design approach that adds charm and character reminiscent of an English cottage in the heart of Mill Valley. This project was a fun challenge in how to infuse a small space with a heaping dose of personality and functionality. No detail is too small to consider in a kitchen design, and there’s lots of favorites in this one: the floor-to-ceiling tile, stunner Calacatta verde marble slab and an extra-deep countertop that serves as a peninsula of sorts.

The character continues into a little boy’s nursery just off the kitchen. A palette of sage green, whimsical wallpaper and wall-to-wall alpaca drapery in a pale blue creates an encapsulating space that holds a little one in the family’s love of nature.
