Not too long ago (as in a little over a month ago), I made a last-minute decision to attend Paris Deco Off and Maison & Objet. It was a decision founded on Goldenbird Design’s commitment to continually source bespoke, sustainable and slightly surprising pieces for our Clients. Pieces that they likely didn’t know existed, and that they suddenly can’t imagine existing without. A curation of which will make their home feel uniquely theirs.

Here I break down my take on the pieces and themes that sparked creativity for me in Paris and will inform Goldenbird Design’s work going forward. I hope that you, too, will find some inspiration in these notes.

We love this project because the before-and-afters really show what a difference that “finishing 10%” can make! The cherry on top, if you will.

This sweet family called upon GBD with the feedback that their space just didn’t feel finished. During the initial consultation, we worked with them to understand what existing pieces were important and meaningful to keep. From there, it was an exercise in repurposing existing furniture, seamlessly incorporating new pieces, and in some cases, identifying areas to pull back and simplify – ultimately creating a more calming, inviting and elevated space.
